Winding Bobbins
Jean Leader
These lace notes consider a basic aspect of lacemaking that might seem quite straightforward — how to wind thread onto your bobbins. In fact winding bobbins has some pitfalls for the unwary. Through illustrations we hope to show you how to wind your bobbins in the way that is kindest to your threads, and how to hitch them so that they do not come undone. The first of these notes, the idea for which came from a book by Ulrike Löhr, originally appeared in The Scottish Lace Newsletter.
A PDF version of these notes is also provided for printing or reading with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.
